The generation of electricity and the consumption of electricity in the power grid must always be in balance in order to ensure a constant grid frequency (50 Hertz in Europe). However, challenges such as the weather-dependent feed-in of renewable energies and the increasing consumption of electric cars, heat pumps, etc. are making this increasingly difficult.
